The Moreshwar Ganpati Temple at Moregaon is one of the most important Ganesha temples of the Astha Vinayak Temples. It is situated at the village Morgaon at a distance of about 79 km from the city Pune on the Pune-Sholapur Highway. It attracts the largest number of devotees in the Astha Vinayak circute.
History: According to the ancient scripture Ganesha Purana, Ganesha incarnated here in the Treta Yuga to Shiva and Paravati for killing the demon Sindhu. He has who has six arms and fair in complexion. His mount is a peacock so He is also called Mayuresvara.
The present temple was built by a great Ganesha Bhakta Morya Gosavi sometime in the 13th–14th century. The Peshwa rulers of the 18th century worshipped Ganesha as their Kuladevata and made additions to this Ganesha temple.
The eyes and the navel of the Ganesha deity are studded with precious diamonds. On the head are seen the fangs of Nagaraj. The deity is flanked by brass idols of Siddhi and Buddhi who are considered the consorts of Ganesh. In front of the deity stand a mouse and a peacock. The idols of many other deities are there within the temple complex. The Nagna Bhairava idol is considered the most important one as he is said to be the guardian of Lord Mayureshvar.
Regular Poojas are performed at the temple by the temple priests.

Train – The Jejuri Railway Station 17 km away is the nearest railway station.
Road – Many special buses are arrainged by tour operators. Many buses to and from Pune also take you to the temple.
