This Temple is in Jwala, Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. The Devi here is popularly known as Jwala Devi and Jalso Jwalamukhi as inside the natural cavea a flame burns here inside the temple eternally.
In this temple there is no idol and the Goddess is considered to be present in the form of flames. It is a nine ceaseless flames that are called Mahakali, Annapurna, Chandi, Hinglaj, Vindhya Vasini, Mahalakshmi, Saraswati, Ambika and Anji Devi ceaseless flames that are named as Mahakali, Annapurna, Chandi, Hinglaj, Vindhya Vasini, Mahalakshmi, Saraswati, Ambika and Anji Devi. These 9 flamed tongue represent her tongue which fell here. Scientists have tried to explore the secret behind these burning flames but could not make out the reasons or origin.
It said that Emperor Akbar tried to extinguish the flames by many means but all his efforts were unsuccessful. Realizing the divine power of Devi Akbar presented a golden chattar but the gold changed into another metal which is still a mystery to the world.
Timings: Open for darshan from 5 am to 12 pm, and from 4 pm to 8 pm. Every day five araties and one hawan are performed by the priests in the temple.
