As per the legend Devi’s fingers had fallen here. Inspite of being a sakthi petha unfortunately this temple is not well developed. A Parada ( Mercury) Siva linga is also there.
Localyy it is known as Alopi Devi Mandir is a temple. This place is close to the holy place Sangam, where Gang, Yamuna and Sarasvati meet. The famous Kumbha Mela takes place at this place.
The strange thing about this temple is that there is no deity here. People worship a’doli’ – a wooden carriage. Alopi means disappeared. The last part – fingers fell at this place and Devi’s body totally disintegrated so her disappearance happened. There is also a Lalita Devi temple in Allahabad where they claim the fingers of Devi fell.
Prayaga is the Holy place where Lord Brahma performed a great Yagya. Hence Prayaga is regarded as one of the Sapta (seven) mokshapuras. This place is also one of the four Holy Teerthsthanas. It is said that during the Ksheera Sagara Madhana or churning for the immortal divine nector, there are four places where a few drops of ‘Amritha’ fell. The other three places being Haridwar, Nashik and Ujjain. Sangam is also called as Theertharaj meaning the king of all theerthas or Holy places.

Bade Hanuman or Sleeping Hanuman at Sangam:- 2km away is the only sleeping Hanuman temple.
Mankameshwar Mahadeva Temple This ancient temple at Allahabad is considered the Ishta Deva of Allahabad:- Mankameshwar means Mana + Kama + Eswar meaning Shiva who fulfills your wishes. According to legend legend Sita took bath in the Sangam and wanted to offer prayers to Lord Shiva but there was no Shiva temple at Sangam at that time. So Lord Ram built a Shiva temple for her, thus fulfilling her wish. This was the fulfillment of wish, which lead to the naming of this temple as Mankameshwar. It is believed that your wishes in this temple are fulfilled.
