Important-Parashara
Lords of the first, second and third drekkanas are Narada, Agastya and Durwasa respectively.
Comments :
- Here Maharshi Parashara has given a very important clue to understand and determine the nature; mental tendencies and inclinations of a person.
- The lord of the first drekkana is The verbal meaning of Narada is the one who preaches humanity and spirituality. In Hindu mythology, Narada is a very important personality as he is present almost everywhere. He has access to every place and palace in the three Lokas (Deva loka or the God’s world, Rakshasa loka or the Demon’s world and Prithvi Loka or this mortal world of ours). Narada is an all round genius. He is versatile. He is an expert musician as he’ is present everywhere with his melodious Veena (a string musical instrument), of which he is the inventor. He is a fast communicator, since he can travel at a unimaginative speed of the mind, as he has been created by Lord Brahma, as one of his ten mind born sons. He is a messenger from the gods to the human beings and vice versa. He is wise. He is a writer. He first promotes discord between gods and human beings and then tries to settle it most sincerely. So we can conclude that the native born in Narada Drekkana is wise, noble, sharp versatile, fond of travelling and a backbiter.
- The lord of the second drekkana is The sage Agastya is a very reputed personage in Hindu mythology. He signifies strong will power, determination and superhuman power. He humbled down the Vindhya mountains, when he found them challenging and obstructing his purpose. When offended on another occasion by the ocean, who gave shelter to demons in his war with them, he decided to drink the whole ocean to compel the demons to come out and also teach the ocean, a lesson. He also helped lord Rama in his fight with demons and gave him the bow of Lord Vishnu. So we can conclude that the native born in the Agastya drekkana is determined, strong willed, helpful to noble persons and destroys his enemies.
- The lord’ of the third drekkana is The word Durwasa means ill dressed. He is an irascible saint and is very hard to please. He is the Son of the great sage Atri and his wife Anusuya. He cursed many persons on the slightest provocation and caused them sufferings and miseries. Durwasa signifies strong religious inclination, faith in traditions, power to cause harm and sufferings, a very strong ego, hot temper, impatience and wandering without any purpose. So we can conclude that the native born in the Durwasa Drekkana is hot tempered, blunt, ill dressed full of ego; follows religious traditions strongly, harms others and lacks patience.
