He lives at Dharmapuri, a legendary village located on the banks of Holy River Godavary in Andhra Pradesh. Lord Narasimha, the 4th avatara of Lord Vishnu, is the preciding Deity of Dharmapuri. After killing the demon king Hiranya kashyapa, he was very furious (called Ugra Narasimha) and the saints and Gods prayed him to cool down. Lord Narasimha then came to Dharmapuri and had undergone deep meditation in yoga mudra and was called Yoga Narasimha. At that place a shrine was constructed by the king Dharma Verma after whom the town is called Dharmapuri. It is also known as a great Hari Hara Kshetra (Vishnu & Shiva) with the presence of 
Lord shiva in the form of Ramalingeshwara. Famous for its Vedic heritage, Dharmapuri has a Vedic school and a Sanskrit college and still preserves and takes pride in its ancient heritage.
