The Divya Jyoti – the eternal Vedic flame of India – has been flickering from the time immemorial. The Greeks led by Alexander were the first to attack. The Pathans, the Mughuls, the Mongols, the Turks, the British and the French have attacked but the flame never went out. The Sumerian and the Byzantine civilizations have vanished. The Romans, the British and the Russians have crashed. Still the flame goes on – fuelled by the knowledge of the ancients of India. Starting with the great Rishis like Vashistha and Varahamihira in the ancient times to Adi Shankaracharya and Vallabhacharya in the middle ages to Swami Shivananda and Vivekananda in the modern times, plus billions of believers of the Vedic tradition have kept it going.
In my own small way I am adding a drop of oil to it. As a practicing astrologer, and as a panel astrologer of Indiatimes.astrospeak, the famous Times of India website, I regularly prescribed Stotras, Poojas and mantras as remedies. Most of my clients had difficulty in getting the Stotras and not many were familiar with the Devanagiri script. A lot of them had all kinds of misconceptions and blind believes about astrology and Poojas etc. Hence, I decided to type them in English, and put them on the web along with some articles on astrology. I spent the entire auspicious month of Kartika to do the typing. That is how this website was born. As an after thought I added the Astro-library which has 18 major Sashtras of astrology for those interested in reading the authentic classics. All the contents of this site, the articles, the forecasts, the Panchanga, the ephemeris and the lessons, are based entirely on the traditional Indian Vedic astrology and are aimed at teaching the basics of Vedic astrology and to eliminate the misconceptions and blind believes. Also included are the major Stotras, Poojas and Mantras traditionally prescribed to ward off the evil effects and to improve ones destiny. The recorded MP3 Stotras, total 100, was the next addition so that one can learn the correct pronunciation. The next project, to add Bhagavad Gita, the Vedas and the Puranas & Ayurveda, took about a year and today we have 200 Vedic scriptures online.
The next back breaking project was the 4 Vedas in MP3. The South Indian Pundits who perform my poojas helped me a great deal in this work.

It took me a while to design the site, as I don’t have any technical knowledge of computers or designing, as I never took any courses. I just made the pages and the pictures, added borders and colours and put them the way I liked best! I could not put technology in it but I have put an astrologer’s heart and faith into it. So you must excuse me for the technical flaws.
